And they will be hoping for a maximum five points from their trip to basement boys Aironi, meaning Nigel Davies' men will be on the hunt for tries.
The Scarlets are in good form in the RaboDirect PRO12, having won three of their last four matches, but they've only been victorious once on the road in 2012.
Davies' team does have history on their side, having won all three of their previous encounters with Aironi and the Scarlets will have a new captain in Wales centre Jonathan Davies as they bid to close the gap on fourth-place Glasgow Warriors.
In a new-look second row, Dom Day comes in to join Aaron Shingler, who returns from a toe injury - and Davies is desperate for his side to end their regular season away campaign with a morale-boosting win.
"We know this is a must-win game for us out in Italy and the boys have been frustrated after their performance in Brive last weekend in the quarter-final," he said.
"This is a time for them to get some momentum back and we know we are still in with a fighting chance with our league campaign.
"We have two great home fixtures ahead in our run in back at Parc y Scarlets with Munster next Saturday and then the Cardiff Blues (May 5) which will both be great occasions for the side and our supporters to be part of.
"Our team selection for Aironi in many ways reflects the new generation of Scarlets who are stepping up and being handed responsibility and will take rugby forward for the Scarlets into next season."
Aironi are bidding for a fifth RaboDirect PRO12 win of the season and Tito Tebaldi continues his run of appearing in every league match this term, making it 20 out of 20 as he starts at full-back.
Wings Giulio Toniolatti and Sinoti Sinoti and centres Gilberto Pavan and Matteo Pratichetti complete the back line while Luciano Orquera gets the nod at No.10 with Tyson Keats and scrum-half.
In the pack, Josh Sole is back at No.8 with Simone Favaro and Nicola Cattina completing the back row.
In the second row Aironi boast Quintin Geldenhuys and captain Marco Bortolami - the pair who helped Italy to statistically the most effective line-out during the recent Six Nations.
In the front row, experienced prop Matias Aguero and hooker Fabio Ongaro play alongside young tighthead prop Lorenzo Romano.
At Stadio Zaffanella, 3.05pm local time (2.05pm UK & Ireland).
