He has appeared in six of seven GUINNESS PRO12 games - touching down against Glasgow Warriors in the opening round - as Scarlets started the season in impressive fashion.
This season Shingler follows Scotland international John Barclay as the latest to sign a new contract at Parc y Scarlets and the 28-year-old insists Llanelli is the place to be.
"Scarlets gave me my first opportunity at professional rugby and I'm excited to continue my development with my home region," said Shingler, who has won eight caps for Wales so far,
"It's important for me to be playing at the highest level to continue my personal development and the Scarlets, as one of the top two regions in Wales playing in the top flight of Europe, gives me that opportunity.
"I still have ambitions to play for Wales and I feel that this is the best place to be to fulfill those ambitions."
And head coach Wayne Pivac says it's not just on the pitch where Shingler's impact is felt.
"Aaron was the leading line-out forward in the PRO12 last season and brings maturity and experience to the group," Pivac said.
"Both Aaron and John (Barclay) are leaders in our group, both on and off the field, and are influential in the development of the young guys in the squad."
