This means Shingler and co find themselves just outside the top four on points difference, with Welsh rivals Ospreys just in front.
The season run-in for the clubs looks to be in Scarlets' favour as they face Cardiff Blues and Benetton Treviso while Ospreys take on title-rivals Glasgow and Leinster.
But despite the fixtures being kinder to his side, Shingler isn't about to let his Scarlets team-mates get ahead of themselves.
"We are very pleased with ourselves after our win over Glasgow, but it is so tight at the moment, you can't take anything for granted," Shingler told the South West Evening Post.
"It is difficult to say what we need out of the two games.
"The Ospreys play on Friday night and while it won't change the way we play in any way, it will be interesting to see what happens, whether they slip up or win, which will mean Glasgow will be in sight."
