And after almost a decade at the club, during which he has amassed 181 appearances, Rees insists he wants to show his appreciation for the staff, supporters and teammates who have stood by him for so many years.
The only side capable of derailing Rees' plans are Welsh rivals and reigning RaboDirect PRO12 champions Ospreys but they must travel to face Leinster, who themselves want to secure a home semi-final.
But even though Treviso could pose a significant threat, Rees is confident he can end his career at Scarlets, before he joins Cardiff Blues next season, with an appearance in a semi-final at least.
"When I signed for Cardiff Blues I was always going to be committed to Scarlets and make sure we make the play-offs," said Rees. "And for me personally I have had some great times here and to finish off in a semi-final or final and actually win something would be a great achievement.
"It would be a way of saying thanks to staff and supporters who have been very supportive of me. This season we have been outstanding at home and that is one thing I was concentrating on as a captain.
"If you win your home games and pinch a few away you will be there or thereabouts and that's what has happened. This squad deserves to be where we are.
"It is a potential banana skin against Treviso. They have nothing to play for and they can come here and just play. We know as long as we prepare well in the working week, perform well the result will come.
"A semi-final place would be massive for the region. The Heineken Cup semi-final in 2007 was the last play-off we had so for the region, for the fans and for the sponsors it would be fantastic."
