England prop Alex Corbisiero had put the Lions on their way with a try after just two minutes and there were further scores from George North and Jamie Roberts, as well as 21 points from Leigh Halfpenny's right boot.
It was in marked contrast to the first two Tests that saw the Lions edge into an early lead and try and close the game out - a tactic that proved successful in Brisbane but not so in Melbourne.
But Davies, who helped the Scarlets into the RaboDirect PRO12 play-offs last season, believes a more attacking approach proved fruitful.
"All the effort we've put in as a squad over the past eight weeks and it's come down to that and it's something special I'll never forget," said Davies.
"The big thing we said was that we knew we hadn't played any rugby the first two Tests.
"We knew we were capable and if we took chances that came about we could really perform and we did that.
"And just to be a part of that is something very special. This series just shows the importance of the Lions.
"It happens every four years and we're part of a small bit of history.
"The boys have worked pretty hard for it and I think it's something very special and long may it continue."
