Just three points separate Ospreys in fourth from Glasgow Warriors in fifth while the margin the other way up the table sees Ulster four ahead and Munster and Leinster 12 and 13 respectively.
But Beck, who has made 11 RaboDirect PRO12 appearances this season despite battling hip and calf problems, insists they aren't going to worryingly looking over their shoulder at Glasgow.
"We are leaving it late this year, but we still back each other to qualify for the knockout matches," Beck told the South Wales Evening Post.
"The Blues is going to be a big game. It's a derby and we will be playing against people we know well. We know what needs to be done.
"I had to pull out of the Wales set-up last month because my fitness wasn't right. I had torn a calf muscle last summer and did not really have a chance to do a lot of fitness work.
"The club have had a few injury problems in the centre this season, so I have been playing without having the opportunity to do that bit of extra training to catch up.
"Then my calf went again in November. It just meant that my body wasn't ready for international training or rugby.
"I don't know whether I'll need an operation on my hip. The Ospreys' physios are doing a brilliant job and the decision on whether to undergo surgery will depend on whether the hip plays up or not. I just have to look after it."
