The Glasgow Warriors flyer would normally be spending his summer in a gruelling pre-season ahead of the new GUINNESS PRO12 campaign getting underway.
His Warriors teammate Stuart Hogg is another player to have been drafted in from the XV-a-side game and Bennett is adamant that Scotland are up to the task in front of their home crowd.
"No Scottish side has beaten New Zealand ever, so hopefully we'll be the first this coming month," he said.
"That's the first game up, and if we can get the result we're looking for, think of the impact it will have on us as a squad and on the crowd. The crowd will go wild if we can do that and that will spur us on as well.
"It's a lot more individual, so if you make a mistake you're letting the side down. You've got that accountability, so there's a lot of emphasis on individual skills.
"It's very different, as well, in the contact area. Your work on the ground when you've been tackled is completely different, so it's taken a bit of adapting to."
