Fly-half Duncan Weir, full-back Stuart Hogg, and flanker Rob Harley all picked up knocks in the Warriors' 16-6 GUINNESS PRO12 victory against Edinburgh Rugby at Scotstoun on Saturday.
While Scottish international Harley has been ruled out with an ankle and knee injury for Friday's second leg at BT Murrayfield, Townsend is still waiting for news on Hogg's thigh strain and Weir's bicep problem.
Despite the duo missing training on Monday, Townsend insists there is still plenty of time to see how the pair progress.
"He (Weir) was getting a scan last night and Stuart Hogg is getting a scan as well on a thigh strain," Townsend told the The Scotsman.
"Both Duncan and Stuart are improving, but these are cautionary scans. Let us say they are precautions and we are still 72 hours away from the game.
"They didn't train on Monday so we will have to wait and see."
Both players played a key part in giving Glasgow the upper hand in the Scottish derby with Weir kicking 11 of their 16 points as well as being instrumental in setting up Josh Strauss' try minutes before the interval.
But despite remaining confident over the two, Townsend confirmed he will be without Harley who picked up a significant blow to his leg.
The 24-year-old was put in a protective boot and given crutches after he was taken off in the 57th minute.
"With Rob, who knows," added Townsend. "He got a good whack on his ankle and knee and he was sore when I spoke to him. We have to wait and see just how bad it is, but he is definitely out this week.
"He is also in a boot and he is on crutches and with a six-day turnaround he is definitely out.
"Chris Fusaro was confident when he injured his ankle over in Toulouse that he would be fine but is out for three or four months. So we will just have to wait and see how things pan out."
