Scarlets' 200th Welsh international, and 212th international player, made his debut less than a fortnight ago at the Millennium Stadium against Ireland and secured his first international start on Saturday, in Wales' victory over Italy.
2014-15 has been something of a breakthrough season for the young Pembrokeshire product on the regional stage making 19 appearances for the Scarlets thus far, including a debut try against Leicester Tigers in the European Rugby Champions Cup.
Evans joined the Scarlets at under 18s level and further developed through the regional Academy. He was part of a strong Scarlets front row trio, along with Kirby Myhill and Samson Lee, that played an important role in the Wales Under 20s team that finished 3rd in the 2012 Junior World Championships in South Africa.
Following strong performances for Principality premiership side Carmarthen Quins Evans was named in the Premiership Team of the Year for the 2012-13 season.
A regional debut came in January 2013 as a replacement in the region's LV= Cup clash against Sale Sharks following a lengthy injury spell.
Scarlets Head Coach Wayne Pivac said: "We are pleased to announce that Rob has extended his contract with us here at the Scarlets. He has made great strides this season and will undoubtedly have developed further having had a little international experience and coming up against some of the world's best props during this season's European Rugby Champions Cup campaign.
"We are developing strength in depth at front row with a good crop of homegrown talent that will continue to develop together over the coming seasons ensuring a bright future for region."
Scarlets loosehead prop Rob Evans said:
"It's a fantastic opportunity for me to continue my development with the Scarlets and I'm pleased to have signed a new deal to stay with the region.
"I've grown up supporting the Scarlets and am really enjoying my rugby with the region at the moment. I'm looking forward to finishing what has been a great season so far, for me personally, on a high helping the Scarlets secure our place in the top six and next season's top flight of European rugby."
Evans joins fellow internationals Liam Williams and Ken Owens in committing his future to the Scarlets with Rhodri Jones, Samson Lee, Jake Ball and Scott Williams all also set for a bright future at the region on National Dual Contracts. Scarlets have also confirmed the signing of Glasgow and Canadian winger DTH van der Merwe and outside half Aled Thomas for the 2015-16 season.
See Rob Evans, and his fellow international teammates, in action at Parc y Scarlets this Saturday (28th March) as the region takes on Edinburgh Rugby in the Guinness PRO12, kick-off 2.40pm.
