Head coach Pivac has been boosted by the news that full-back Liam Williams has been released to the region for this weekend's match with Connacht in the GUINNESS PRO12 as he looks to prove his fitness, with the 24-year-old being out of action since the World Cup due to a metatarsal injury.
But Pivac is not concerned to be losing some of his best players for more than a month.
He told the Scarlets' website: "We've always planned to lose some players at this time. We're back to a squad minus Cubby [James Davies] and John [Barclay] to really to what we had at the start of the year.
"Those guys [coming into the team during the World Cup] did a pretty good job, we'd gone five from five by the time the internationals came back [to training].
"We're a lot further into the season, a lot has happened since then, certainly the boys are looking forward to this group of games whilst the Six Nations is on."
He added: "Clearly we want to remain as high up the table as we can. There are eight or nine sides going for six slots - that doesn't work.
"There will be quality teams to miss out - we don't want to be one of those sides. It's all in front of us over the next four or five games to stay in the top four if we can, that's certainly the aim. We know exactly what we've got to do now."
