The 27-year-old - capped 13 times for Wales - has made just 12 Guinness PRO12 appearances over the last two seasons after a groin problem laid him low.
But Bevington is now looking to turn the page at Ospreys, having signed up at the club until the end of next season.
"The last two years for me have been difficult with my groin injury," said Bevington.
"I've gone from playing regularly over four or five seasons to not being able to do anything.
"It's been tough but the Ospreys have been brilliant looking after me, supporting me every step of the way.
"Having another year gives me a chance to get back in the picture. I feel that I need to perform for the Ospreys now. I want to perform for the Ospreys.
"There is fantastic competition here at loosehead with Paul James, our leader, and then Nicky Smith and Gareth Thomas doing so well.
"If I can get back to where I need to be then we'll have four players all pushing each other, who want to play regularly and that's good for the Ospreys and good for each of us as individuals."
