The sides drew 32-32 in the opening fixture of last season and Doak admits he wouldn't mind witnessing a similar game this time - as long as he's celebrating a victory.
However Doak knows winning won't be easy as the Scarlets have won their last five GUINNESS PRO12 fixtures since Edinburgh won at Parc y Scarlets on March 28, which was their only home defeat in the tournament since Boxing Day 2013.
"Scarlets are a tough side at home. I think they drew to Munster, lost to Toulon and I think lost to Edinburgh last year in 14 or 15 months of rugby which is pretty outstanding, so we know we've got to be good," said Doak.
"We were pretty decent for large portions of the game last year and it ended up being a pretty entertaining game.
"It was the first game on Sky last year and I think they were massively happy with that, hopefully it's similar but we nick it this time and get the win.
"We know it's going to be a tough game and we're going to have to prove ourselves."
Ulster ended a three-game winless streak in the GUINNESS PRO12 with their 28-6 victory over the Ospreys in Belfast on Friday and have now won three of their last six away games in the tournament.
Doak has made two personnel changes and one positional switch to the team that beat the Ospreys with Craig Gilroy switching to the right wing due to Andrew Trimble being injured and Rory Scholes coming in on the left.
Peter Browne is also starting his first competitive game for Ulster in the second row in place of Dan Tuohy.
Scarlets, meanwhile, have named an unchanged starting XV from their victory over reigning champions Glasgow Warriors last weekend.
The only change in the matchday squad comes on the replacements bench with Rhodri Williams unavailable due to concussion.
The Scarlets have won just one of their last eight encounters with Ulster in the GUINNESS PRO12 but the Irish side have only won two games from nine in all competitions at Parc y Scarlets.
And Scarlets head coach Wayne Pivac is expecting another tough encounter.
"It's very early days, but Ulster certainly put on a very good performance at home last weekend and on the evidence of that whilst the Rugby World Cup is on they'll still be a very strong side and one of the leaders," he explained.
"They are one of the top sides, we played them four times last year and had three real battles and one where they got on top of us at home. We know we're in for a tough day at the office on Saturday."
At Parc y Scarlets, 3pm.
