Munster made a dramatic come back from 21-3 down at halftime to upset what on paper had looked like Ulster's game.
Brian Carney on his debut for Munster put the winning points on the board in a game that saw Ulster fall apart.
Ulster started strong and saw two tries and conversion on the board and a lead of 14-0 after just twenty minutes. This was shortly followed by another try from Trimble and the conversion from Humphreys put Ulster 21-3 ahead.
But after the restart Munster moved up a gear and just five minutes into the second half reduced the deficit to 21-10.
Five minutes from time Alan Quinlan's cross kick found Carney who crossed the line and with Manning's conversion Munster had stole the game and damaged Ulster's Magners League challenge.
