In the RaboDirect PRO12, Leinster have lost just one of their last five matches and have lost just one of their last nine fixtures against fellow Irish provinces.
But Ulster are yet to taste defeat in the RaboDirect PRO12 despite losing their first game of the season last weekend in the Heineken Cup against Northampton Saints.
Nonetheless Reddan is adamant that Leinster are desperate to win the RaboDirect PRO12 this season with their hopes in Europe now looking slim.
"RaboDirect games are massive for individuals in terms of getting selected for those bigger games," Reddan told the Irish Independent.
"We have a job to do this week. That job isn't to win, really, it is to do certain things that are asked of us, and those standards usually lead to victory.
"We have a massive responsibility, the guys who take to the pitch this week, to be very accurate in everything we do and, if the result comes with that, then great.
"But it's about getting the performance right and working on the specific things that we need to improve on.
"Even if we had won at the weekend, it is still a massive goal of ours to win the Rabo.
"Maybe the fact we lost at the weekend puts a bit more pressure on us to perform this weekend, but even had we won last weekend this would still be a very important game for us."
Leinster will be without hooker Richardt Strauss after he picked up medial ligament injury against Clermont while Shane Jennings is also a doubt after damaging his shoulder.
Dave Kearney is back in the squad to boost Joe Schmidt however, but Friday's clash comes too soon for Luke Fitzgerald.
Ulster, who have beaten Leinster just once in their last 18 attempts back in 2004, will be without Ireland wing Tommy Bowe, who has undergone knee surgery while Dan Tuohy tore a calf muscle against Northampton and will also be absent
But coach Mark Anscombe is refusing to get carried away with his side's first defeat of the season.
"It's sad because it's our first loss but we got beaten by a better team. We're still a good team and we'll bounce back," he said.
"It happens and you've got to acknowledge it and respect it as they did well and deserved their victory. We've got to go back and look at what we need to do better."
