McIntosh and Paul John are currently in charge of first team affairs following Phil Davies' departure from the region.
But the coach believes his charges have enough ability and determination to bounce back and enjoy a strong finish to the season.
"Things happen in life and you are left frustrated with certain calls and certain things don't go your way. But you have got to drive through the fog and take it on the chin and move on," he said.
"For me, these guys will learn from the experience and become better players and people.
"We now have a break before we go to Ospreys, a tough game away again. By that time we hope to have some injured players and senior players back. Therefore these youngsters will be put into a team with a better balance.
"We will live to fight another day. We will prepare for the Ospreys and hopefully we can challenge. They are a good side, I have a lot respect for them, but they are the focus.
"We are playing for pride and out of the running in the competitions.
"But we are also trying to finish in the top six. I know that is a huge mountain to climb, but our backs are against the ropes and we have got to come out fighting."
