Allen then missed some international game time himself due to a damaged shoulder, however the pair are fully fit for this Sunday's RaboDirect PRO12 clash at the Millennium Stadium.
And with Judgement Day the perfect place to catch Wales head coach Warren Gatland's eye, Allen can't wait to test himself against Davies at the home of Welsh rugby.
"It will be a big game for me personally and I know there will be pressure on me to play against him [Davies] as he's in the same position as me for Wales," Allen told Wales Online.
"Jon is one of the best, if not the best 13 in world rugby at the moment.
"To play against him is going to be a massive challenge but you have to play against people like that to know where you are yourself.
"I don't think I've earned the right to be above him at the moment. It will be a great battle with some great running rugby I would hope and I'm looking forward to playing against him, particularly at the Millennium Stadium.
"It doesn't get much bigger than playing against the guy who has the jersey at the moment."
