Williams injured his shoulder while on international duty with Wales earlier this year in a thunderous collision with Brian O'Driscoll of Ireland.
The Scarlets have two games left in the RaboDirect PRO12 against the Dragons and the Blues and are desperate to try and secure their place in the top six.
But Wilson insists there is no need to bring Williams back before his ready, especially with a Wales tour to South Africa coming up this summer.
"Scott Williams has made great progress and it's a lift to see him back on the training ground," said Wilson.
"He is getting there. Whether he will make the next two weeks I'm not sure. There is no real rush for him to come back and find out he is not quite ready. It's important he makes the steps he needs to be back fully fit."
