The game - the tenth round of the Guinness PRO12 - is scheduled for Sunday December 21. The Rodney Parade will be the theatre of an important challenge between the two teams separated by just one point in the table with the Italian north-west side above the Welsh eastern one thanks to the two home wins over Ulster and Edinburgh while Byrne and his team have achieved only one success against the other Italian franchise of Treviso back in September.
The Zebre Rugby group have some players returning ahead of a number of fundamental games for the season with the two Italian derbies just around the corner. Fullback Odiete will not travel to Newport after being suspended for two weeks after receiving a red card for an alleged dangerous challenge during last Saturday's fixture against Gloucester in the EPCR Challenge Cup. After missing a couple of games due to an injury, centre Bisegni and flanker Mauro Bergamasco are back in action with the Parma based franchise which will also see the return in action of international winger Sarto.
