Glasgow Warriors returned to the top of the GUINNESS PRO12 table as 20 points from Peter Horne helped them to a comfortable 54-10 victory over Zebre at the newly re-named Stadio Sergio Lanfranchi.
Horne's pair of tries, in addition to scores by DTH van der Merwe, Peter Murchie and Tim Swinson, had the bonus point wrapped up by half-time with Filippo Cristiano's try providing only brief respite for Zebre.
Fraser Lyle, Murchie's second and Will Bordill compounded the Italian outfit's misery after the break as Glasgow made it 11 wins from 14 league games.
Previous table-toppers Ospreys lost their spot atop the league, dropping to third place, after going down 24-16 to an in-form Edinburgh side at Myreside.
Kiwi-born fly-half Jade Te Rure went over for the Scottish side in the first period while Grayson Hart and Tom Brown dotted down after the break to ensure Dan Evans' try was little more than a consolation for Ospreys.
Munster also benefitted from Ospreys' defeat as a powerful second-half display saw off Cardiff Blues 33-16 and moved Anthony Foley's men up to second in the table.
Denis Hurley, Ronan O'Mahony and Jack O'Donoghue all crossed the whitewash for Munster and although Josh Navidi touched down in response, the Blues were generally outclassed by their Irish opponents.
There was better news for the other two Welsh sides however, as Newport Gwent Dragons beat Leinster 16-14 at the RDS Arena and Scarlets triumphed 32-14 at home to Connacht.
Tom Prydie booted 11 points for the Dragons while Tom Leach's try ensured Dave Kearney's score wasn't enough to stop Lyn Jones' troops from recording a first league win over Leinster since 2009.
Meanwhile Michael Tagicakibau, James Davies, Jordan Williams and Harry Robinson all crossed for Scarlets as they now sit level on points with Connacht after the bonus-point victory.
And Ulster moved back into the play-off places as Craig Gilroy's try double on his 100th appearance for the province sparked a 43-3 thrashing of Benetton Treviso at the Kingspan Stadium.
TRY OF THE WEEKEND
With Munster 16-9 ahead of Cardiff Blues, a spectacular team try from within their own 22 gave the Irish side a handy cushion.
Denis Hurley made the original break up to halfway before feeding Keith Earls who weaved his way to the opposition 22.
The ball was then worked to No. 8 Jack O'Donoghue who demonstrated his impressive acceleration to dive over for the score.
BREAK OF THE WEEKEND
With his side 13-9 down to Newport Gwent Dragons early in the second half, Leinster's Ben Te'o produced a moment of magic to bring them roaring back into the game.
The centre received the ball in his own half but scythed through the defensive line with a powerful run before expertly offloading to John Cooney.
The replacement scrum-half dabbed a kick through for Dave Kearney to score but it was Te'o's original break that set the play in motion.
PLAY OF THE WEEKEND
The Scarlets had already crossed the whitewash twice when Jordan Williams produced the play of the weekend to sink another nail into Connacht's coffin.
Deep in his own 22, the full-back read the intentions of Connacht's Jack Carty perfectly, intercepting the fly-half's pass before using his blazing speed to race 90 metres for the crucial score.
PLAYER OF THE WEEKEND
Marking his 100th appearance in Ulster colours, Friday's game against Benetton Treviso was always going to be memorable for Craig Gilroy.
But the winger produced a performance as good as any of his previous 99 to really mark the occasion with bang.
Firstly, Gilroy produced a perfect pass to send Stuart McCloskey over in the corner before sealing the bonus point with a try of his own on 72 minutes and rounding off an excellent all-round display by intercepting Henry Seniloli's wayward pass to dot down again late on.
