But Tandy believes the result must be taken into context, with the beginning of the English domestic season still some weeks away.
"We know we were more 'rugby ready' than they were," said Tandy, whose team open their season against Ulster Rugby on Friday.
"Just like we didn't get carried away when we lost 39-5 here last year, we are certainly not getting too carried away by winning.
"They did put out a formidable team who really provided a contest, but we have to take the game in context for what it is.
"We got what we wanted out of the night, which was important. We've got to tidy up our line-out, there were a couple of set-piece issues that we need to improve on, but I thought that some of our movement, some of the attacking patterns were good and we scored some nice tries."
