With four of the world's top nine teams in the same group, former England captain and head coach Martin Johnson described it as the toughest pool in World Cup history.
But GUINNESS PRO12 star Faletau is not daunted by the challenge as Wales prepare to face England at Twickenham on Saturday.
Faletau, who made 13 appearances in the GUINNESS PRO12 last season, said: "It is a tough group; there is no getting around that. It is up for anybody to take it.
"Whoever gets through will be in good shape because they will have had competitive rugby from the start.
"All that competition can only benefit the two teams that get through to the knockout stages and hopefully we will be one of them."
Faletau made his Wales debut in the summer of 2011 and just a few months later was an integral part of the side which reached the semi-final.
The 24-year-old already has 48 Wales caps to his name and injury permitting, will make it to 50 regardless of whether they qualify from the pool.
Faletau added: "The four years has flown by. I was saying to one of the boys that I still watch internationals and pinch myself that I am going up against these players.
"You don't get used to it. You still get butterflies watching other teams and thinking that you will be playing them some time.
"Four years on, I still get the same feeling running out for an international. There is nothing like it.
"I love playing and I take every opportunity to play for Wales with both hands."
