As well as six wins from seven in the league, the Galwegians began their European campaign with back-to-back wins - now they return, in search of a first triumph at Thomond Park since 1986.
They face a Munster side in similar form, Anthony Foley's charges having also lost just once so far this season, but Connacht are on a five-match winning run in the PRO12 - their equal best since 2002 - and confidence is sky high.
It is derby day at the RDS too, as Ulster travel to Leinster seeking just a second victory over their provincial rivals in Dublin since 1999.
They will also seek to put an end to their rhythmic sequence of league results this season - WLWLWLW.
Leinster's Mike McCarthy is in line to make his 150th GUINNESS PRO12 appearance, while Isa Nacewa and Craig Gilroy are seeking to add to their tally of four tries apiece in the competition this season.
And the hat-trick of derbies is completed by Cardiff Blues' trip to the Liberty Stadium to take on the Ospreys.
No visiting Welsh region has won at the Liberty Stadium since a Newport Gwent Dragons victory there in 2010, while the Blues' only victory in their last eight games in all competitions was a 50-9 triumph over Calvisano in Europe.
The Ospreys have won their last eight PRO12 contests with the Blues, too, but the visitors do pose a try-scoring threat.
Indeed, only Ulster and Connacht have crossed over as many times at the Blues - 23 - this PRO12 season, which has already yielded 186 tries - more than ever through seven rounds since the competition first took on its current structure.
They also have, in the shape of Rhys Patchell, the competition's highest point-scorer this season with 88.
The Scarlets take on a Zebre side travelling to Wales off the back of an encouraging European victory over Worcester Warriors last weekend.
The hosts also lost their perfect start to the GUINNESS PRO12 before the break but they are safe in the knowledge that they have never lost to Zebre.
DTH van der Merwe, meanwhile, could move into fourth spot of the competition's all-time top try-scorers alongside Shane Horgan (39) should he cross over.
At BT Murrayfield, Edinburgh will seek to arrest a run of three straight PRO12 defeats when they welcome Newport Gwent Dragons, who could hand Aled Brew his 100th appearance in the competition.
The Dragons are yet to beat non-Italian opposition in the GUINNESS PRO12 this season, though it was against Edinburgh that they ended a five-game losing streak last season, in round 21.
Finally, Benetton Treviso visit Glasgow Warriors, who are on a run of 15 PRO12 games without finishing the game empty-handed.
Treviso, on the other hand, have lost their last 16 league games and lost the last seven encounters between these two sides.
