The result guaranteed the Warriors a playoff spot and they will travel to Connacht on Saturday for their final regular season fixture two points clear at the top of the table.
And for Weir, Friday's game epitomised his side's determination to succeed this season, and to reward the ever-present Warriors faithful.
Speaking after the game, he said: "That's certainly the best I've ever kicked at Scotstoun.
"It's a tough place to kick, which is why the percentages here and in Galway are pretty low for the season averages, but it was nice - the boys did me a favour by getting a few of the tries close to the posts.
"It's more about the result, about the grit and the performance which we eventually put out there for the fans.
"And this one was for the fans because they have been here and sold out Scotstoun on a number of occasions this season, which has been terrific. It's been nice to repay them.
"It is now important to get a home semi-final. You saw against Zebre how the guys were doing everything to thank the fans.
"It's been great for the club that players like playing here so much."
Local lad Weir is leaving the Warriors at the end of the season after six years at his boyhood club, ahead of his move to Edinburgh in the summer.
And with Friday's game potentially having been his last game on home soil, Weir admits he is having to keep his emotions in check.
"Once I knew I was starting the Zebre match I was trying my hardest not to get worked up," he said.
"I'm a Glasgow boy who has always supported the club, who went down to Hughenden and Firhill when I was younger.
"I've got that real connection to the club so it was tough to keep things in check and probably it'll be harder at the upcoming games as well.
"I hope we come back to Scotstoun for a home semi-final so that we repay the fans and have that home advantage too."
