And to whet your appetite we have picked out 15 reasons for you to get excited about the big game:
1) There has been nothing between Leinster and Connacht this season, with the teams finishing first and second respectively on 73 points in the table. Who will lift the 61cm high, 8.3kg trophy is anyone's guess.
2) No team has racked up more try-bonus points than Connacht this term, but Leinster have conceded fewer points than anyone else in the division. Something's got to give.
3) With Connacht having never before reached a PRO12 final this is arguably the biggest match in their history. Victory would guarantee Pat Lam and his merry men virtual immortality in Galway.
4) Leinster can become most the successful team in PRO12 history with what would be their fifth win. Ospreys have also been crowned champions on four occasions to date.
5) Connacht will have to defy a poor head-to-head record if they are to triumph. Leinster have triumphed in 20 of their 27 previous meetings with the Galway-based province but either way there will be a new name on the trophy after defending champions Glasgow Warriors went out in the semi-finals.
6) For the first time the final comes to Edinburgh and there are few better cities to watch rugby and explore before and afterwards. Packed with bars, restaurants and even the nearby Edinburgh Zoo, there is plenty to keep you entertained!
7) BT Murrayfield is the biggest stadium in Scotland and the sixth largest in the UK. The 67,000-capacity venue is steeped in history and has hosted several high-profile events, including 2007 Rugby World Cup matches.
8) Both Connacht and Leinster enjoy playing in Edinburgh. They have both won on three of last four visits to BT Murrayfield. This is the first time they will have met outside of Ireland.
9) The sheer number of Ireland players set to be on show should make this a high-class spectacle. Do not expect any charity between international team-mates though!
10) Jonathan Sexton is the man for the big occasion. His 36 points in finals are more than anyone else has mustered.
11) Robbie Henshaw has a chance to deliver silverware to Connacht in his final game for the province before completing his switch to their opponents in the final Leinster.
12) Connacht fly-half AJ MacGinty is also in his final season for the province - his 11 points from the kicking tee were vital in their semi-final win over Glasgow Warriors.
13) In Matt Healy and Isa Nacewa the final will boast two of the most prolific try scorers in PRO12 Rugby this season, the pair having crossed nine times for Connacht and Leinster respectively.
14) New Zealand-born centre Bundee Aki has been a force of nature for Connacht this year. His explosive approach is worth the entrance fee alone.
15) Perhaps the most experienced man on the field will be the one with the whistle. Nigel Owens is set to take charge of his 136th PRO12 match and fourth final.
