Statement on abandoned game between Zebre Rugby and Connacht Rugby

This evening's game between Zebre Rugby and Connacht Rugby (September 17) has been abandoned due to adverse weather conditions causing considerable risk to both the players and spectators at Stadio Sergio Lanfranchi.

Referee Ian Davies made the correct decision to abandon the match due to a prolonged spell of lightning and hailstones.

Because the game was abandoned after only 40 minutes of play the result of the fixture is null and void. As such a replay of the fixture will be required and the date of the rearranged game, which will be played across the regulation period of 80 minutes, will be announced in due course.

Supporters should retain their tickets which were issued for today's match as they will be valid for the rearranged fixture.
