And having improved in recent weeks, denying Leinster and the Ospreys bonus points and only falling to a last-gasp penalty try against the Dragons, Phillips is confident his side area a team on the up.
"In the last ten minutes Munster were very direct and very powerful. So I'm really happy with the discipline we showed, it was very difficult," said Phillips.
"For me winning against Munster is a journey that started with the Ospreys away, the Dragons, and Leinster. We've worked well during the weeks and now we have to continue with the momentum.
"It's great to have beaten Munster but it's come from five or six weeks of good work with a good attitude. If you work hard during the week, and for the whole week, eventually the rewards will come.
"Against Munster that moment arrived. But this match now has to be the preparation for the next game to continue that momentum."
