A trip to The Rec to face Bath proved no better as they were downed 24-13 in the LV= Cup, but the Welsh region picked up some much-needed momentum last time out with victory over Harlequins.
The Blues are currently lying down in ninth position in the RaboDirect PRO12 table and Davies is looking for his side to start turning their season around, starting at Thomond Park on Saturday.
"The squad is in good spirits with a good bit of momentum going into this game, it's a massive game for us," said Davies
"Munster are a tough team, they haven't got a big number of international call-ups meaning the consistency in their squad is good.
"The players we have now, although a lot of them are still very young, have had a lot of experience over the past 18 months together.
"We want to go over there and play like we did in the second half of the Harlequins game, control the ball better and be more disciplined.
"It's a big challenge- it will be a good mark for us on Saturday to see how far we have developed. We are hoping to give them a tough time."
