The next challenge is a trip to face Ulster, who sit third in the table and have only lost once at Ravenhill in the RaboDirect PRO12 in the last 12 months.
And Jones knows what he will need to be alert to on Friday evening - South African scrum-half Pienaar's pinpoint kicking.
"Ulster have got a great squad with a lot of world class players and Pienaar has a fantastic kicking game, so we will have to keep our eyes on him," he told the South Wales Argus.
"With the tricky conditions at Ravenhill I am expecting him to put the ball around a bit so I will have to be on my toes to get under those kicks and we will need to work hard as a back three."
Jones is splitting his time between the Dragons and his commitments with Wales Sevens, as they prepare for a busy year.
He was delighted to play the full 80 minutes last weekend and the 26-year-old is hoping for more opportunities to push the Dragons up the RaboDirect PRO12 table.
"It's great to get the opportunity," he added. "I really enjoyed it against Glasgow last week and I aim to improve areas of my game this week so that I put in an even stronger performance against Ulster.
"I got my first Wales age-grade cap at Ravenhill and we won. Hopefully I can win again with the Dragons."
