The No.8, who has made seven RaboDirect PRO12 appearances this season, finished the international period on a high, dotting down in a crushing win over Scotland on Saturday.
His displays in recent weeks led to McBryde labelling Faletau Wales' most consistent forward since the New Year, but the Tongan-born back rower is not so sure.
"I don't know about that," he told the Western Telegraph. "I'd probably give myself a two out of ten.
"There's always plenty to work on and I'll be going back to the Dragons now to work on my game."
Faletau has not featured in the RaboDirect PRO12 since New Year's Day, when the Dragons slipped to a 21-13 defeat at fellow Welsh province Cardiff Blues.
However, he is now looking forward to helping them close the gap to the top half, before a summer tour to take on the Springboks beckons.
"It's not mission impossible in South Africa. We'll be going out there with optimism," he added.
"The boys won't be going out there to lose and hopefully it will be a good tour for Wales."
