The Scottish club currently lie eighth in the GUINNESS PRO12 table, with three wins this campaign, following their 28-13 triumph over Cardiff Blues at BT Murrayfield last weekend.
And they enter a pivotal period, with Italian duo Zebre and Treviso, Irish side Connacht and an 1872 Cup double header against Scottish rivals Glasgow Warriors on the cards.
Edinburgh will be able to welcome back the likes of Alasdair Dickinson, Ross Ford and Tim Visser from international duty for their trip to Zebre this weekend and flanker Coman insists their return will give the squad a shot in the arm.
"They are world-class players and it's important to have those guys around," he said.
"We have to play well and keep improving. We can't afford to be on this rollercoaster we have talked about. We need to be steady.
"It's getting there. We work really hard for one another, we train hard, and it's good to see rewards coming our way.
"These [the games coming up] are the games that really test us. Against the Leinsters and Munsters, people haven't given us a chance and we have performed well.
"The games we have struggled in are the ones we need to perform in and have gone in as slight favourites."
