Ulster got off to a flying start in their GUINNESS PRO12 clash on Sunday, as Paddy Jackson, Ruan Pienaar and Tommy Bowe each crossed over inside the opening half-hour.
Treviso pulled one try back before the break, through Sam Christie, and a second-half fight-back put a heap of pressure on their Irish visitors.
Francesco Minto grabbed their second try, while Jayden Hayward converted both and added a pair of penalties, but the Italians ultimately claimed just a losing bonus point.
And despite escaping with victory, skipper Best revealed Ulster's frustration at not adding to their three early tries.
"We didn't feel under pressure to get the bonus point," he told the Belfast Telegraph. "We talked about it and said that if we stuck to our game it would happen. We probably tried to force it a little bit.
"We tried to do a little too much on our own and when they came back at us we let them in too easily. We were soft around the fringes and we let them pick and go.
"We started the second-half really, really well but we probably just got a little bit loose.
"We went off on our own agenda at times to try and get that try instead of just doing what we did well in the first-half."
And after the upcoming European double-header, Best expects Ulster to return to GUINNESS PRO12 action gunning for a coveted play-off place.
"If we can keep picking up four points between now and the end of the league we'll be in a good place," said the hooker.
"There are a lot of positives, just a few negatives there at the end."
