The hard-hitting Edinburgh forward is in good form, having been awarded man of the match in their narrow 20-17 loss to Ulster last time out despite being substituted with a rib injury.
The defeat to Ulster was just the second in their last six games for Alan Solomons' troops and they now lie eighth in the GUINNESS PRO12 table.
After triumphing 28-13 at home to the Blues earlier in the season, Edinburgh will travel down to Cardiff with high expectations.
And while Cochrane admits his team were frustrated not to pick up the victory against Ulster, he is fully expecting a response from the whole squad.
"It was a massive opportunity to beat another top four side [against Ulster] and we are obviously bitterly disappointed with how the game ended up," Cochrane told the official Edinburgh website.
"We certainly had enough opportunities going into the last ten minutes but maybe we just lacked a little bit of composure inside the 22
"Winning the man of the match was a bit of a consolation but obviously I'm disappointed with the result.
"I felt good out there until I got a spasm in my rib cage so unfortunately the game for myself was cut short.
"But we will certainly regroup and move forward to Cardiff and focus fully on that game."
