The 25-year-old arrived at the Sportsground in July but has had a busy summer of rugby with the Emerging Ireland squad.
His attentions are now firmly on the upcoming season, however, and he is targeting a spot in Lam's second row when the big kick off rolls around.
"When I found out Connacht were looking, I was incredibly positive about it because I knew Pat Lam and know the job he has done in the last two years here," he told the club's website.
"I knew a few players as well so I knew it from their point of view and that was a massive boost.
"There is no hierarchy or cliques or anything like that so everyone is inclusive and Pat gets the most out of the team.
"I've had equal minutes in the second row and back row, but recently more minutes in the second row.
"But I like working lineouts and doing the second row jobs so at the moment I love working there.
"I want to be fully included in the working and know all the players and coaches in the setup and then on into the season hopefully I can pick up a few minutes."
