However, their last game in front of their home fans saw Danny Wilson's side record a 23-13 victory over Ulster.
Cardiff have lost just once at home in the GUINNESS PRO12 this year - a narrow 14-13 defeat to Leinster - and Hoeata wants that run to continue.
"The last home game and result against Ulster was massive," said 33-year-old Hoeata, who has played more than 1,000 minutes of rugby this season.
"It was good to get back to winning ways on home soil and that is something we have now got to try and keep going until the season is out.
"We look back at the narrow losses against Treviso and at home to Leinster and feel we should have won. We had the opportunities. But now it's all about looking forward.
"It was always going to take time to gel this season. But Danny has always spoken about the long-term project and no quick fix. We feel we are improving.
"Once you start winning it becomes a habit too; you get the belief and it goes from game to game. We have that belief at home and need to maintain it."
