The home jersey is black in the main, with a chainmail design present in v-shaped stripes on the body of the garment. Red is visible in flashes on the sleeves and the underarm areas, as well as on the underside of the traditional polo shirt collar.
The alternate kit has re-adopted red as the main colour, with subtle stripes running horizontally across the body, and hints of black present on the sleeves, flanks and collar.
To pay homage to the club's heritage, 'est 1872', the year of the club's birth, is visible across the new playing and training range.
While producing highly aesthetic kits, Macron has also used a new fabric technology to create a lightweight, highly-durable garment to cope with the intense playing demands of the game.
Both kits go on retail sale on Friday 12 August at BT Murrayfield at our supporters' event and online at shop.scottishrugby.org and through all other Macron stockists from Saturday 13 August.
Jonny Petrie, Edinburgh Rugby's Managing Director, said: "We asked Macron to tap into Edinburgh Rugby's heritage while producing a striking kit, and we are delighted with the end products, which we're confident will prove popular with fans.
"Also, taking into account the rigorous playing demands of the game, Macron has once again delivered with regard to the high technical spec of the kit.
"It's another big season for the club, and the players will no doubt bring a lot of pride to the city, the Edinburgh Rugby badge and their fantastic new playing kits."
Ross Cook, Macron's Sports Marketing Manager UK, said:"We have worked very closely with the Edinburgh Rugby throughout the design and development stage of the new kits and we are very satisfied with the final result.
"We wanted to maintain a link with the tradition and the heritage of the club while using high-tech materials and developing a sophisticated style with intricate detail.
"We have no doubt the supporters will be fans of the new playing kits."
Edinburgh Rugby wing Damien Hoyland said: "The players are delighted with the new strips and can't wait to wear them as we get underway with what is undoubtedly a huge season for the club.
"We take pride in wearing the badge and representing the fans and the city, and we're looking forward to taking to the field in-front of our supporters in these excellent new kits."
