A lively first half saw Guglielmo Palazzani's close-range try give Zebre the lead before Blaine Scully and Matthew Morgan got the Blues on top at the break.
Tom James' score early in the second half looked to have sealed the contest but when Giulio Bisegni and Giovanbattista Venditti dotted down, Zebre forced a grandstand final few minutes.
Guidi's men remain winless in the Guinness PRO12 standings, but having fared so well against high-flying Blues the 48-year-old insists they do not have to throw the baby out with the bathwater.
"I think that the analysis of the match is simple; in the important moments we missed tackles and some kicks to the posts, so we did not win the game," he said.
"In the first half we have not adapted with too many fouls at the breakdown, but the team came back well in the match after being 12 points behind.
"The team are happy with the reaction they showed that led us to grasp a good point against the first team in the standings.
"We played at par today, a fact that makes us stay positive. The team leaves the field with a bitter taste and will start again on Monday.
"We are moving the ball much more than last year, but we have to work because we cannot complete with poor kicking and indiscipline."
