But Wales flanker Warburton claims it's been a season of transition, and the likes of fly-half Rhys Patchell, winger Harry Robinson, centre Owen Williams and scrum-half Lewis Jones will be better for it.
And Warburton picked out special praise for Patchell, who has made 15 RaboDirect PRO12 appearances so far this term.
"I thought from day one Rhys was going to be a top player," Warburton told Wales Online.
"He's a great professional. He's always the first one in training and the last one to leave. I think he'll go a long way.
"The same with Harry, Owen and Lewis. I think they will only get better and better and that's why I'm looking forward to next season.
"I'm really looking forward to next season. We've made a couple of good signings and the players will learn a lot from this year and take that forward.
"With the likes of Gethin Jenkins and Matthew Rees coming in, that experience will be invaluable come lineout and scrum time."
