That allowed them to leapfrog Leinster at the top of the table after the Dublin side fell to a 22-18 defeat at home to Ulster.
In the Welsh derby double header in Cardiff both the Ospreys and the Scarlets picked up wins to leave them level on points in the race for the final play-off spot.
Finally Edinburgh narrowly avoided becoming Zebre's first victims, escaping from the Stadio XXV Aprile with a 9-7 win after Luciano Orquera's late drop goal bounced back off a post.
TRY OF THE WEEKEND
Fans at the Millennium Stadium were treated to two high-intensity Welsh derbies with the pick of the tries coming from Cardiff Blues full-back Leigh Halfpenny.
A move that started on the Blues ten-metre line saw the ball spread wide with fly-half Rhys Patchell releasing Gavin Evans to sprint down the wing.
The centre then found Harry Robinson inside him and he in turn fed Halfpenny who had too much pace for Dan Biggar and dived over for the first try of the game.
BREAK OF THE WEEKEND
Glasgow Warriors have been in excellent form so far in 2013 and bounced back from last week's defeat to Leinster in style by putting 51 points on Munster.
If they were clinical in the first half, it was after the break that they really cut loose, with Stuart Hogg again showing how dangerous he is with ball in hand.
The Scotland full-back collected the ball inside his own half and initially showed great strength to shrug off a couple of tackles. He then demonstrated his pace to sprint away from the Munster cover defence to go over for Glasgow's fifth try of the game.
PLAY OF THE WEEKEND
It was a historic win for Ulster at the RDS as they recorded a first away win over Leinster since 1999 but it didn't come without a few scary moments.
With 80 minutes gone the home side were camped on the Ulster line throwing everything at the visitors.
A try looked inevitable but their saviour came from an unlikely source when Leinster hooker Sean Cronin crashed over only for debutant prop Kyle McCall to hold him up over the line.
PLAYER OF THE WEEKEND
Ruaridh Jackson has had an intriguing battle for the fly-half jersey for both Glasgow and Scotland and against Munster he served a timely reminder of what he can do.
Outstanding from the kicking tee, he finished up with 22 points in total including a wonderful try as he feinted to pass before gliding over and dotting down for his second RaboDirect PRO12 try of the season.
ONES TO WATCH
The Scarlets got the better of the Dragons at the Millennium Stadium thanks in large part to their international contingent. George North helped himself to two tries, the first of which came as he ran a perfect angle off Aled Davies to scythe through the Dragons defence.
There was more disappointment for Zebre who continue to look a much better side than their results suggest. Dries Van Schalkwyk has been one of their standout players this season and it was his try early on after an inside ball from Josh Sole which gave them a great start against Edinburgh.
Paddy Jackson and Ian Madigan found themselves in a battle for the Ireland jersey when Jonny Sexton was injured during the Six Nations, and they went head to head once more in Dublin on Saturday.
Madigan's unerring accuracy from the kicking tee kept Leinster in the game while Jackson produced a couple of sublime moments, most notably to send Robbie Diack over for the first try with a lovely cut-out pass.
