This often leaves parents in a difficult position when looking to treat their children, leaving Cytomegalovirus to be considered a 'rich person's disease'.
A non-profit organisation called Rugby for Life is behind the calendar which is looking to change that view, in their mission to provide assistance at a social, health and sanitary level.
With the support of a sport like rugby, where teamwork is such an important part of the game, Rugby for Life are trying to make a difference in the lives of young people as well as older generations.
To do that they invited 24 top level RaboDirect PRO12 players to take part in the project, for which they were happy to model for the calendar.
Included in the calendar will be a host of big names in Italian rugby including the Bergamasco brothers, star flanker Alessandro Zanni and Zebre winger Giovanbattista Venditti.
The calendar is on sale ahead of the new year while there will be a charity dinner on December 23rd attended by the players involved to promote the calendar, of which 10,000 copies have been printed.
