Their hopes of making the Heineken Cup quarter-finals were ended when they fell to a 9-7 defeat to Cardiff Blues last time out.
And ahead of Friday's clash with Treviso in the RaboDirect PRO12, Jackson insists it marks the start of a crucial run of games in the league with a derby double header against Edinburgh lying in wait.
"Our season is by no means over, but basically we have three games to save it and get our momentum back," he told the Glasgow Evening Times.
"Europe is gone for another season and we have to accept that, but we are still very handily-placed, sitting in third, in the PRO12.
"We have Treviso coming to Scotstoun on Friday night and it is absolutely vital we get back on it and get a home win.
"That would then give us a launchpad into our defence of the 1872 Cup against Edinburgh and, if we can come through these three games successfully, then we will have consolidated our place at the top of the table."
