The match is also the second leg of the 1872 Cup, with Warriors leading 20-16 after their win at Murrayfield on Boxing Day.
Glasgow sit fourth in the RaboDirect PRO12, with Edinburgh in seventh and Scotland scrum-half Greig Laidlaw admitted it was the right decision to postpone the clash.
"It's extremely disappointing for everyone concerned as we were looking forward to it," said the Edinburgh No.9.
"But the pitch is in a pretty bad state and even to get drop-outs 10 yards was going to be difficult.
"We have two big Heineken Cup games coming up and we turn our attentions to them."
