The twice-capped Wales international will be hopeful of good news after missing five weeks with a shoulder injury earlier in the season.
And after seeing the player break through last season, Davies predicts Patchell can only go from strength to strength when he gets back on the field.
"He's a guy who is only 20. He's still young and raw but he's got an unbelievable attitude for a young fella," Davies told the WalesOnline.
"Rhys has got a huge mental toughness. It's a case of realising when to kick, pass or run, of seeing those things.
"It's all part of the learning process, but I'm so excited he's here for the next couple of years."
