contrary to Law 10.4 (j) , in the RaboDirect PRO12 match between Leinster and Newport Gwent Dragons on Friday 14th February 2014.
The independent RaboDirect PRO12 disciplinary committee, chaired by Pamela Woodman, sitting alongside Iain Goodall and Douglas Hunter (all Scotland), having viewed video footage of the incident and listened to submissions by and on behalf of the player, determined that the offence committed was at the top end of the IRB's scale of seriousness. In reaching its decision, the committee took into account aggravating factors, including the need for a deterrent for the type of tackle, together with mitigating factors such as the player's previous good record and conduct at the hearing.
Francisco Chaparro is suspended until midnight on Sunday 27th April 2014 and has the right of appeal.
Law 10.4 (j) Lifting a player from the ground and dropping or driving that player into the ground whilst that player's feet are still off the ground such that the player's head and/or upper body come into contact with the ground is dangerous play
