Wrist and groin injuries restricted the 30-year-old to only ten domestic league appearances last season.
Ulster finished fourth in the table, losing to eventual winners Leinster in the semi-finals, and the province has seen much change over the summer with Les Kiss becoming interim Director of Rugby after David Humphreys left to take up a role with Gloucester and head coach Mark Anscombe had his contract terminated.
They kick off their new GUINNESS PRO12 campaign away to the Scarlets on the first weekend in September and Bowe is hopeful this season will see silverware return to Ulster for the first time since their 2005/06 league success.
Internationally, Bowe has not featured for Ireland since November but, with the 2015 World Cup on the horizon, he hopes an injury-free season will see him back at his best and back in the set-up.
"Being injured is by far the worst part of playing rugby. It's my 11th year. I was fortunate," said Bowe.
"I've had eight years of pretty much no injuries but the last years have been hell. Hopefully this is my year.
"It's the World Cup at the end of the year and hopefully I will get back involved in that and we'll see how we go."
