Centre Olding spent much of last season nursing his way back from a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament injury while lock Henderson starred for both Ulster and Ireland.
Olding is now back fully fit and started Ulster's opening match of the new GUINNESS PRO12 season - a 32-32 draw with Scarlets - but the same cannot be said for Henderson.
He is to undergo a hip operation and Olding, a replacement for Ulster's second clash of the season against Zebre, is determined to support his flatmate just like he did last season.
"Ten months was a long time out but, to be honest, it has flown in because I've just been so keen to get back," Olding told the Belfast Telegraph.
"He looked after me in my first few weeks so I'll now try to repay the favour. He would come in after training and say 'I was soaked out on the pitch' and I'd say 'I was dry in the gym all by myself'.
"Iain was very good to me and it's absolutely terrible that this has happened to him."
