Kiss will renew his role as Ireland's assistant coach next month, with a replacement coaching set-up still to be decided by the club's hierarchy.
The Australian however saw Ulster to their first Guinness PRO12 win of the new season, a 33-13 defeat of Italian side Zebre.
Trimble touched down for one of his side's five tries at the Kingspan Stadium and was named man of the match in the bonus-point win.
And he believes Kiss has set about helping the side maintain their cool under intense pressure.
"He has given us a lot of discipline," said Trimble. "We have worked hard to make sure we keep going and do the small things right and make sure we think about what we are doing, thinking through our game.
"We are never short of passion on the pitch, but sometimes tactically we have to have that edge."
