The 30-year-old has not appeared for the Scottish side since tearing his hamstring against Ospreys in the GUINNESS PRO12 earlier this season.
It has been an injury ravaged 12 months for Cochrane since joining Alan Solomons' side, but the hooker has been named on the bench for their clash with the Exiles this weekend.
And Cochrane cannot wait to show the Scottish fans what he can do and help Edinburgh to what would be a third successive victory in Europe.
"It's always much harder watching than playing. You want to be out there giving your all to help the team," he said.
"We need to pick ourselves up this week and go in with confidence against London Welsh. Only we can turn it around now.
"We have a change of scene with the different competition this weekend, two good results previously against Bordeaux and Lyon, and we have a big opportunity now to go out and beat London Welsh this weekend."
