But centre Darren Cave believes having three of their final five games at the Kingspan Stadium will tip the balance in their favour.
Cardiff Blues are the first visitors when action resumes next weekend and consecutive interprovincial clashes at Connacht, then against Leinster and Munster at home, precede a final weekend showdown with current pace-setters Glasgow Warriors.
But, rather than fear the prospect of playing four top-six teams as they bid to win a first title since 2005/06, Cave is bullish about the challenge ahead.
"We have tough games coming up, but we are still in the mix," said Cave, whose team are the top try scorers in the division this season with 45.
"A lot has been made of how tough our run-in is but we have three home games and at home we always start as favourites.
"We are not dead and buried yet."
