After making a fast-track debut for the Crusaders in 2008, where he held the distinction of playing first-class rugby before even playing club rugby, Manu moved to the Highlanders in 2010, where he is in his second year of co-captaining the side.
A keen Canterbury man, Manu has played Provincial level for Canterbury since 2007 - with whom he has won six titles - making a try-scoring debut against Counties Manukau.
He attended Christchurch Boys' HS where he played in the 1st XV side that lifted New Zealand's 2006 schools' championship. Manu then won gold at the 2007 IRB World Championship in Ireland with the New Zealand under-19 side, followed a year later with another winning title as part of the New Zealand under-20 IRB World Championship side.
The strong running explosive no 8 is looking forward to the next stage of his career with Edinburgh.
Manu said: "I'm excited to be heading to Edinburgh and taking up a new challenge in my career. My partner and I are looking forward to living in Scotland and learning more about the history and culture."
