That victory 12 months ago came over the Blues in Italy and a penalty try, two penalties from the boot of Jayden Hayward and a heroic defensive effort in the second half ensured they repeated the trick with a tense 13-7 triumph this time around.
The Blues set up camp in the home 22 for the final quarter of the match but were unable to turn that territorial dominance into points as Treviso held firm.
And while Goosen acknowledges it has been tough going this season, he is ecstatic with the heart shown by his side.
"We have suffered a lot, but finally the first victory of the season has arrived," said Goosen.
"The players deserve this victory. We fought until the end and we found the confidence that had been lacking in the last few matches.
"In recent weeks we have focused mostly on ourselves and less on other teams. My first goal is to instil more confidence to the team, and I am happy that we are succeeding."
